August CPI-IW up by 2 points, at 237. Jan 2014 DA to touch 100%

The Labour Bureau, Ministry of Labour & Employment, Government of India have released the All India CPI-IW index for the month of August 2014. The index rose by two points and stood at 237. On 1-month percentage change, it increased by 0.85 per cent between June and July compared with 0.94 per cent between the same two months a year ago. Govt reiterates : No plans to hike retirement age

Bonus for CGE : Order issued

Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance has issued the office memorandum for Grant of Non-Productivity Linked Bonus (ad-hoc bonus) to Central Government Employees for the year 2012-13. Railway : July'13 Dearness Allowance hike order issued

Payment of Dearness Allowance to Railway employees — Revised rates effective from 01.07.2013.    Please refer to this Ministry’s letter of even number dated 26.04.2013 (S.No PC-VI/315, RBE No.38/2013) on the subject mentioned above. Defence likely to have separate pay commission

The government is likely to accept the demands from the defence personnel for setting up a separate pay commission for the pay revision and benefits granted to the defence personnel only. Union cabinet approves dearness allowance to 90%

The union cabinet today approved the hike in the dearness allowance for the central government employees and the dearness relief for the pensioners. The hike will be 10% making the DA at 90% from the existing 80%. This is the first time that the DA hike is touching double digits in three years. महंगाई भत्ते में 10 फीसदी की वृद्धि

Austerity drive : No new jobs/posts, vehicles, restriction in in air travel etc.

Eligibility of widowed/divorced daughters for family pension

Department of Pension & Pensioners' Welfare, Ministry of Personnel, P.G. & Pensions has issued an office memorandum stating that the f amily pension is payable to the children as they are considered to be dependent on the Government servant/pensioner or his/her spouse. A child who is not earning equal to or more than the sum of minimum family pension and dearness relief thereon is considered to be dependent on his/her parents.  Similarly, family pension to a widowed/divorced daughter is payable provided she fulfils all eligibility conditions at the time of death/ineligibility of her parents and on the date her turn to receive family pension comes .... PF deposits likely to receive 8.5% interest for FY 2013-14

The EPFO is likely to finalise the interest rates for the provident fund returns at 8.5% for the financial year 2013-14.  This leaves the rates unchanged from the last year.The EPFO estimates suggest that the interest rate of 8.5 per cent can leave some surplus for the body."In all likelihood, the interest rate on PF deposits for this fiscal will be fixed at 8.5 per cent," a source said.The s .... read more...
