Government defers plans for BSNL - MTNL merger: The merger of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) and Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL) has been postponed due to financial considerations, including MTNL's huge debt, said Devusinh Chauhan, minister of state for communication, at the Rajya Sabha on Wednesday.
